Giftedness Across the Lifespan
Navigating Intensity, Insight, and Invisible Needs
Giftedness isn’t just about grades, test scores, or being “ahead.” It’s a way of moving through the world—often with intensity, deep sensitivity, and a mind that doesn’t easily turn off. For many, it shows up early in childhood and continues into adulthood in complex, sometimes overwhelming ways.
At Brainy Social Worker, we recognize that being gifted isn’t always a gift in practice. It can mean struggling to connect with peers, feeling misunderstood, or being labeled “too much” or “too sensitive.” It can mean living with anxiety, perfectionism, sensory sensitivities, or existential questioning that started before you even had the words for it.
We work with:
Parents of gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) kids navigating school systems that weren’t built for them
Gifted adults wrestling with loneliness, burnout, or the pressure to “live up” to their potential
People of all ages who’ve never been formally identified, but have always known they experience the world differently
We’re not here to pathologize giftedness—or to glorify it.We’re here to offer a place to land. A space that acknowledges how real the challenges can be when your inner world runs deep and fast—and how validating it can be to work with someone who gets it.
